About Serena: Serena started dancing at the age of 3yrs old and began performing professionally at 12! Her Mom was a Contortionist in the German Circus and Burlesque Dancer, so she was born with a dancing, flexible soul! Serena has performed as a featured dancer in many Cabaret Shows all over the world. Her BROADWAY Credits include, Original Cast and Featured Dancer in FOOTLOOSE. Radio City Music Hall Performance with Bernadette Peters, and she toured Internationally with Phantom Of The Opera for 3 years. While touring in Phantom she began practicing Buddhism in 1989 and is now a Yoga Instructor. After a series of injuries she decided to start an Asana Practice and do the Physical Part of Yoga. Then the “Yoking” happened. Mind, Body and Spirit came together. She got her Yoga Certification in 2002 at Laughing Lotus in NYC. Serena is now a commercial and stage choreographer and teaches Master Dance Classes all over the world including the prestigious Broadway Dance Center in NYC.

Orlando Magic Players Dining at W Hoboken’s Restaurant ZYLO

Three members of the Orlando Magic basketball team were seen dining at the W Hoboken’s restaurant ZYLO, located on the 1st floor overlooking the New York City skyline. Hedu Turkoglu, Jason Richardson, and J.J. Redick were spotted at ZYLO on Sunday before last night’s game against the New Jersey Nets. The source from ZYLO could not confirm if the entire team was staying at the W Hoboken overnight. The Nets were defeated by the Magic in last night’s game.

HUNDREDS show up to the W Hotel in Hoboken for the NOH8 Campaign photo shoot

Well over 600 people showed up to the W Hotel in Hoboken in support of the NOH8 campaign to get their picture taken for the photo shoot fundraiser. The silent protest against California’s Proposition 8, which bans same sex marriage, is raising awareness for marriage equality.

The photo shoot was hosted by the NO H8 Campaign, which was co-founded by photographer Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley.

Event Will Raise Awareness for Marriage Equality

HOBOKEN, NJ – November 15, 2010 – Hundreds of people are expected to attend a NOH8 Campaign photo shoot on Nov. 22 at the W Hoboken in Hoboken, NJ to raise awareness for marriage equality and anti-discrimination efforts throughout the country.

The photo shoot will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests are invited to come to the riverfront hotel and have their picture taken with duct tape across their mouth and a temporary NOH8 tattoo. They are asked to wear a plain white shirt to match the look of the signature NOH8 photos. A minimum donation of $40 is required for guests taking a single photo and $25 per persons in a group photo.

The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska & partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8, which amended the California state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage. Photos are taken throughout the country to raise awareness for marriage equality. Contributions from the events are used to cover the daily operations and maintenance costs of the rapidly growing campaign.

Those in attendance will also have the option of purchasing a red ribbon in support of World AIDS Day on Dec. 1. All proceeds from those purchases will be donated directly to AIDS Project LA.

The public also has an opportunity to win a “NOH8 Getaway” by becoming a Facebook fan of W Hoboken and posting “I am ready for NOH8 at the W Hoboken” directly onto W Hoboken’s facebook wall which will enter them to win a night stay at W Hoboken, two sips, an autographed photo of the NOH8 Campaign founders, plus front-of-the-line privileges to have a complimentary NOH8 photo taken by celebrity photographer, Adam Bouska, at the November 22nd NOH8 CAMPAIGN SHOOT (http://tinyurl.com/2brrkge).
