Jersey Digs | Ground Breaks on The Parker East, an 86-Unit Development in East Rutherford

By Chris Fry — A modern apartment complex in Rutherford will soon have a twin namesake one town east as The Parker East has officially started construction on a vacant lot in East Rutherford.

Vango Development recently broke ground on the project at 263 Hackensack Street. The five-story, mixed-use building will bring 86 luxury rental residences and approximately 1,100 square feet of street-level retail space to a plot of land just a quick walk from the Rutherford NJ Transit train station.

Vango is moving forward with The Parker East following the successful development and lease-up of The Parker in neighboring Rutherford. Construction of the project is being made possible by a $25 million loan provided by ConnectOne Bank, which closed in January 2025.

“The Parker East reflects our ongoing commitment to thoughtful residential development in well-connected communities,” said Van Golemis, CEO of Vango Development. “We’re excited to begin construction on this project, which continues our investment in Bergen County and builds on the strong response to The Parker mixed-use properties in neighboring Rutherford.”
