New York YIMBY | Work Nears Completion on Centurion Union Center and Sleepy Hollow in Union and Plainfield, New Jersey

By: Max Gillespie | Construction is nearing completion on Centurion Union Center and Centurion Sleepy Hollow, two new residential developments in Union and Plainfield, New Jersey. Designed by Comito Associates PC and Rotwein + Blake, respectively, and developed by Landmark, the projects will yield a combined 185 rental units. Both properties are expected to welcome residents beginning in October.

Centurion Union Center is the latest phase of Landmark’s ongoing redevelopment initiative in Union Township. The five-story building will add 85 rental apartments and 107 public parking spaces to a larger master plan that already contains 182 residences and ten retail spaces totaling 14,836 square feet. Planning is ongoing for subsequent phases to the development.

Centurion Sleepy Hollow is a four-story building at 1222 South Avenue in Plainfield. The structure is Landmark’s first in the city and will yield 100 apartments along with ground-floor retail space.

“Centurion Union Center represents the kind of smart growth that not only reenergizes an underutilized downtown but sets the foundation for long-term community success,” said Manny Fernandez, founder of Landmark. “When we created the Centurion brand, it was with the goal of developing properties that speak to the needs and sensibilities of today’s renter while adding lasting value to the fabric of each neighborhood. Every Centurion property is shaped by the context of its location, resulting in places that feel authentic, vibrant, and connected to their surroundings.”
