Residents of Upscale Gated Community Enjoy Enhanced Amenities and Service During Blizzard
When residents move into Vizcaya, one of New Jersey’s top gated communities, they enjoy the fabulous amenities and exceptional service right away, but it takes a little winter weather to underscore just how nice it is to live in a community where everything is taken care of for you.
During the December blizzard that blanketed West Orange with more than 30 inches of snow, residents spent the day inside, relaxing. Between the indoor pool, the gym, game room and card rooms, the residents had plenty of indoor activities to keep them occupied.
Outside, Vizcaya staff members plowed internal roads and cleared walkways. Residents didn’t have to worry about digging out their cars either, thanks to Vizcaya’s ample indoor and valet parking.
The level of service remained outstanding during the storm, according to Concierge Supervisor Frank Gramo. The concierge desk remained in full-service, as it does 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If some staff members couldn’t make it in, others worked a double shift.
“It took an incredible team effort, but the level of service to our residents remained high during the blizzard,” Gramo said.
Mr. Gramo oversees a concierge staff that handles front desk duties, such as signing in guests and accepting deliveries and also handles special requests for residents. His staff can handle residents’ dry cleaning, have their cars washed and take care of many other chores for them.

The concierge service is especially useful to residents who go to Florida or Arizona for the winter, as they can contact Mr. Gramo to make general maintenance arrangements or to ask a concierge to check on something in their home. There is no need for them to worry about whether their home is being cared for while they are out of town.
“Many of our homebuyers at Vizcaya are friends of residents. They originally came here as guests and were so impressed with the facilities, the service and the resort-like lifestyle that they decided to move in,” Ms. Macchi said. “Vizcaya is also very appealing to buyers who love to travel, because they don’t have to worry about who is watching their home while they’re away. That is all taken care of for them. How can you enjoy your vacation if you have to worry about who is looking after your home?”
