EAST TOWER OF HEADQUARTERS PLAZA IN MORRISTOWN RECEIVES ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION

Headquarters Plaza
Headquarters Plaza, the Class A commercial buildings in downtown Morristown with 700,000+ square feet of office space, recently received ENERGY STAR certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the East Tower of its facility. The environmentally-significant designation means the East Tower meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and ranks among the top 25 percent of buildings in its category for energy conservation.

“We are proud to have our facility recognized as one of the most environmentally-friendly, energy efficient office buildings in the state,” said Brian Fisher, a Principal at Fisher Development Associates, which developed Headquarters Plaza along with partner the Olnick Organization. “Pursuing this certification reflects our ongoing commitment to conserving resources and reducing our environmental impact.”

Headquarters Plaza is the first building in Morristown to receive ENERGY STAR certification, according to the EPA. The tower is equipped with a sophisticated energy management system designed to optimize energy efficiency while maximizing tenant comfort. High thermal comfort and efficiency, indoor air quality, lighting levels and energy performance ratings helped the building score a 79 on the ENERGY STAR rating system. That places Headquarters Plaza in the top 21st percentile in energy conservation of office buildings nationwide.

ENERGY STAR certified buildings must use 35 percent less energy and emit 35 percent less carbon dioxide than average buildings in its category. Americans reduced their energy bills by $18 billion in 2010 and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of those of 34 million vehicles by participating in the ENERGY STAR program and using ENERGY STAR certified products.

“We’re dedicated to providing our tenants at Headquarters Plaza with the best possible work environment, and part of that equation is having a modern, energy efficient infrastructure,” notes Bruce Simon, President of The Olnick Organization. “It’s both environmentally-responsible as well as an added amenity to what is already a highly-amenitized and well-serviced office complex.”

Headquarters Plaza is widely regarded for its all-under-one-roof environment. Amenities and services inside Headquarters Plaza include a full-time corporate concierge, upscale restaurants Ming and Mehndi, Bright Horizons Daycare Center, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, The Club – a 41,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center, ten-screen cinema, a sundries shop, dry cleaner and 256-room Hyatt hotel and conference center. The Hyatt includes 31,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space along with additional amenities, including the Qube Lounge and the Eclectic Grill restaurant.

Headquarters Plaza offers a 3,000-space parking garage and an ideal location near Route 287, Route 202, Route 10 and the Morristown Train Station. The picturesque Morristown Green, the centerpiece of Morristown’s colonial town center, is just one block away. The shops, restaurants, entertainment and culture of downtown Morristown are all within walking distance. The complex is known for its outstanding management and proactive response to tenant’s needs.
