NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ, October 23, 2012 — The Fresh Grocer President and CEO Pat Burns is doubling down on his commitment to New Brunswick. The supermarket chain executive will follow up the November 2nd Grand Opening of The Fresh Grocer’s newest location within Wellness Plaza in downtown New Brunswick with a personal move into The Vue, the City’s newest luxury condominium and rental building.

Mr. Burns recently purchased a residence at The Vue, a 23-story mixed-use building featuring 42 Penthouse condominiums, 150 luxury rental residences, upscale amenities, exciting street-level retail and direct connectivity to the New Brunswick Train Station via a pedestrian walkway.

“In preparation for The Fresh Grocer’s new store opening, I was spending more and more time in New Brunswick,” notes Mr. Burns. “When I visited The Vue for the first time, the location and quality overwhelmed me. The style, architecture and the views are spectacular, and the attention to detail throughout the homes and all the amenities that The Vue offers are second to none.”

Mr. Burns certainly didn’t have to be sold on The Vue’s location as he had already identified downtown New Brunswick as a dynamic and thriving setting that embodies the best lifestyle characteristics of a convenient, urban environment.

“I love New Brunswick,” he says. “I think it is a great model for a city that has reinvented itself. The Fresh Grocer thrives in diverse communities that celebrate different cultures, heritages and ways of life. New Brunswick has all of that and more. I am extremely excited to open our store here, which will be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and am equally excited to be moving into The Vue.”

The new Fresh Grocer store will be located at 100 Kirkpatrick Street within Wellness Plaza, a new mixed-use facility designed to improve the well-being of the community at large. The 49,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art Fresh Grocer supermarket will join a 60,000 square-foot fitness center; a 1,275-space parking structure; and, eventually, an elevated walkway connected to the train station. It will provide New Brunswick residents, visitors and commuters the opportunity to achieve and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

“The community has been without a full-service supermarket for more than 20 years,” Mr. Burns points out. “We are in the process of hiring close to 300 local residents to work at this new location which will bring healthy and affordable food access to nearly 90,000 people.”

The appeal of downtown New Brunswick and the unparalleled lifestyle offering at The Vue has resonated with buyers as 65% of its 42 Penthouse condominiums have been sold to date, according to New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) and Pennrose Properties, which developed The Vue and retained The Marketing Directors, Inc. as the building’s exclusive sales, leasing and marketing agent.

The building offers direct access to the New Brunswick Train Station via an expansive, landscaped pedestrian walkway connecting The Vue to the westbound train platform of the Northeast Corridor Line. There’s also a 657-space on-site parking garage, while on-site, street-level retail conveniences include the recently-opened Barnes & Noble Bookstore featuring a Starbucks café that is also serving as the Rutgers University Book Store, and a soon-to-open Brother Jimmy’s BBQ restaurant. The RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center, slated to open this November, is located a couple of blocks away.

The Vue’s collection of one- and two-bedroom Penthouse condominiums provide an ideal setting to enjoy all that downtown New Brunswick has to offer. Currently priced from $323,000, these well-designed residences offer from 773 to 1,216 square feet of living space and feature upscale living spaces with lustrous wood flooring throughout the living and dining area, plush carpeting in the bedrooms, oversized windows, and the convenience of an in-home washer and dryer. Open gourmet kitchens offer rich custom cabinetry, smooth granite countertops, porcelain tile floors and a top tier GE Energy Star stainless steel appliance suite. Master baths are beautifully appointed with opulent marble flooring, custom vanities with silver grey granite countertops and oversized stall showers, while secondary baths are adorned with high-design choices such as sueded cappuccino hues, and an elegant soaking tub.

An exciting suite of amenities include an attended, custom designed lobby; fully-equipped fitness center and residents-only lounge featuring a billiards table, flat screen televisions, WiFi business bar and a catering kitchen and conference room. In addition, The Vue has partnered with Verizon’s Virtual Concierge service to provide residents with additional services such as dining and building event reservations, and the ability to manage local vendors (i.e. dry cleaner, florist, housekeeping service, etc.) remotely.
