Public Must RSVP Through Yelp By Visiting Yelp Website

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Many of the highly-rated dining venues and social hotspots that make living in historic Paulus Hook so special will be on hand to kick off Yelp’s Passport to Paulus Hook week-long event on Saturday, June 1st at Madox, a brand new rental building located at 198 Van Vorst Street.

The festive opening party will be free of charge and takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the outdoor rooftop at the upscale residential building. Designed to showcase the incredible lifestyle opportunities available in this neighborhood, the event will feature some of New Jersey’s finest restaurants, breweries, bakeries and more joining with national brand name food and cocktail beverages to encourage residents and visitors to eat, drink, and shop locally.

Attendees can sample a variety of culinary delights from popular establishments such as Carlos’ Bakery, VB3, Golden Krust Bakery, Empanada Mania, White Star Harbor, Marker’s Restaurant and the Iron Monkey. Beer enthusiasts will enjoy a selection of local New Jersey brews from New Jersey Beer Company, Climax Brewing and East Coast Beer.

Familiar brands including Tito’s Vodka, Senor Sangria, Spodee Wine, Pretzel Chips and Kind Bars will also be highlighted. A professional DJ will be on hand to enhance the fun-filled social environment.

The kickoff event will also raise money for the Historic Paulus Hook Association (HPHA), according to Stephanie Yolish, New Jersey Community Manager for the popular Yelp review website. A $10 donation for the non-profit organization HPHA is suggested.

To attend the event, please RSVP through Yelp by visiting “Madox embodies the best of Paulus Hook and is the perfect venue to commence Yelp’s Passport to Paulus Hook event,” says Ms. Yolish. “There’s no need to travel far for residents of this neighborhood to discover amazing experiences and this is a great way to encourage locals to explore the treasures in their own backyard with an entire week of special events throughout the neighborhood.”

“One of the main reasons we were so excited about Madox was the opportunity to develop a new residential building in a neighborhood as dynamic and vibrant as Paulus Hook,” adds James Caulfield, Jr., a principal of Madox’s developer, Fields Development Group. “This event incorporates all the positive attributes of the Paulus Hook community and we’re looking forward to introducing residents and neighbors to the endless dining, social and shopping opportunities available just steps from their front door.”
