UNION CITY, N.J. – The three professionally-decorated model homes and fully-furnished amenities at The Lenox in Union City are proving to be the perfect tool to introduce buyers to the upscale urban lifestyle at the 16-story condominium building on Central Avenue.

The elegant and modern spaces have been merchandised by Debbie Weisman, a professional interior designer with T.D. Designs, who has brought a personal touch and vast knowledge of the local marketplace to vividly illustrate how well The Lenox meets the needs of today’s buyer types.

Mrs. Weisman, who began her career 25 years ago designing residential single-family homes for personal clients in southern New Jersey, conducted extensive research on the Union City housing market to ensure The Lenox highlighted all the elements Hudson County homebuyers seek.

“My first priority is to design rooms that fit a client’s personal needs and tastes and makes them happy to be home,” says Mrs. Weisman, who has been decorating multi-family buildings for the past 15 years.  “This is accomplished by incorporating popular area trends and styles, the most modern furnishings and design elements that reflect individual character.”

At The Lenox, Mrs. Weisman banked on her experience and familiarity of Union City homes having previously toured a variety of condominium residences with local real estate brokers to get a strong feel of the design and interior looks that best served this urban market.

“I wanted to get a sense of what buyers wanted and how these homes could be decorated to appeal to the first-time buyer, professional couples and young families,” she points out.  “I approached the Lenox with a clean slate and relied on my background and research to create a building that is elegant and sophisticated and defines what luxury urban living is all about.  We analyzed the homes prior to renovations and in several instances made suggestions to improve floorplans such as removing a wall to open the layout.”

Mrs. Weisman’s work started in the model homes – each designed to showcase how The Lenox appeals to a wide variety of homebuyer types.

“The studios are ideal for the single, former renter so we created the model to show how open and airy the home could be,” she says.  “For example, the living room has great flow and the layout is sectioned into separate living spaces.   We also placed a high table in the sitting area in order to take full advantage of the magnificent New York City views that fill the room.  The interior design shows all the space there is in this home.”

On the other end of the spectrum, the two-bedroom model displays the ideal lifestyle for the young family with children, Mrs. Weisman continues.

“We used colors such as black, red and grey to give the home some pop,” she says.  “The master bedroom has a very clean and romantic look that immediately catches the eye of adult parents.”

“The second bedroom furnished as a colorful children’s room demonstrates the flexibility of the space by showing how it can be used for up to two children or even as a guest bedroom.  The kitchen is modern with all stainless steel appliances and opens into the dinette to create a very spacious and roomy feel.

“We also put a strong emphasis on closets in all of the homes to illustrate the ample amount of space for clothes or storage.”

“We wanted to give the lobby a twist that would separate it from other area condominium buildings,” Mrs. Weisman recalls.  “Our first step was to move the 24-hour concierge desk into the middle of the lobby so the attendant could see both entries. We also positioned it directly in front of the main entry hallway so residents would be greeted by the services they needed as soon as they entered the lobby.  We then created a chic and cool environment with one corner seating area and another sexy gathering place surrounding the grand piano.

“The resident’s lounge and clubroom has been designed to foster strong social interaction.  We created dedicated areas that separate flat screen TV and viewing couches and pool table.   The décor has a rustic feel that harkens back to Union City’s industrial past with exposed beams and wrought-iron stools.”

Sun Equity Partners, developer of The Lenox, released newly renovated condominiums and an exciting suite of five-star recreational and social amenities at the building in early summer.  More than 50% of the homes at Lenox are now sold as buyers have responded enthusiastically to this unique chance to enjoy modern land luxurious living at value-packed pricing.

Available for immediate occupancy, the newly-released studios, one- and two-bedroom residences at The Lenox feature spacious floor plans with contemporary finishes and appointments at attractive prices starting from just $179,000.  The building is also approved for favorable financing programs offered by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) that require only a 3.5% down payment.

A variety of floor plans are available at The Lenox which range in size from 535 to 1,089 square feet of living space.  Finishes found throughout the homes include hardwood floors, kitchens with stainless steel GE appliances, custom white gloss kitchen cabinetry and quartz countertops with marble backsplashes; and spa-like bathrooms with imported tile walls and floors and Moen shower fixtures.

“Select homes also offer balconies with incredible views,” adds Kelly Marzullo, Director of Marketing for The Lenox.  “Residences facing east enjoy the spectacular expanse of the Hudson River and Manhattan Skyline, while other exposures include sunsets over the preserved wetlands to the west and nearby Washington Park.”

Bolstering the enviable lifestyle at The Lenox are a number of Manhattan-style amenities, including the 24-hour concierge to handle specific needs and requests, magnificent lobby, state-of-the-art fitness center, residents’ lounge and a clubroom with pool table and flat screen TV.

In addition to its attractive pricing, stylish homes and exciting amenities, The Lenox also offers residents an ultra-convenient location close to mass transportation and major thoroughfares, providing easy access to New York City, New Jersey’s Hudson River ‘Gold Coast’ and Bergen, Essex and Passaic Counties.

“Complimentary shuttle service to the Hoboken PATH station is provided from our front door,” Ms. Marzullo points out.  “The building is also one block away from NJ Transit Bus Stop with direct service into New York’s Penn Station, and the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail is a 15-minute walk away at Hoboken’s 8th and Jackson Streets platform.”

An abundance of shopping, restaurants and nightlife can be found near The Lenox in downtown Union City, Edgewater, Hoboken and Jersey City.
