NEW YORK, NY – Jonathan Kushner, President of the Kushner Real Estate Group (KRE), has been appointed to the Board of Advisors of The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute at Baruch College.

Mr. Kushner will serve alongside William Newman, the Board’s Founding Chair, Richard R. Pergolis, the Board’s Co-Chair, and a team of distinguished real estate professionals from the greater New York City area. He will assist the Board in furthering its mission to provide Newman Real Estate Institute students with an unparalleled source of non-degree and continuing education courses, applied real estate research, and timely and relevant conferences, driven by a keen awareness of the unique role that real estate plays in New York City’s vibrant economy.

“It is a tremendous honor to be chosen for the Board of Advisors at the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute,” Mr. Kushner said. “My primary objective will be to assist the Board in achieving its strategic goals and maintaining the outstanding reputation the Newman Institute has earned through its educational programming. I look forward to serving alongside some of the most accomplished professionals in the industry.”

Mr. Kushner has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate investment and management fields. As President of KRE, he is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of more than 6,000,000 square feet of office, warehouse and retail space, as well as a multi-family portfolio that exceeds 9,000 existing apartments, with another 7,000 apartments in various stages of approval or construction.

Mr. Kushner has played an integral role in KRE’s ascension into a leading position in the multi-family arena. The company’s current development activities include Journal Squared, a 1,840- unit project in the Journal Square section of Jersey City; Hudson Lights, a 1,000,000 million square-foot mixed-use project in Fort Lee, NJ; and Madison Farms, a development in Bethlehem, PA comprised of 832 units and 132,000 square feet of retail space.
