Jennifer Mantilla’s children Molly, 4, and Mason, 2, celebrate winning The Monarch’s social media photo contest with some new toys.
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Jennifer Mantilla’s children are famous at The Monarch. Molly, 4, and Mason, 2, are known for walking around the luxury rental building with hats, bags, sunglasses, accessories and huge smiles on their faces, charming all of the residents. So when The Monarch announced a social media photography contest asking residents to showcase what they love most about their home, Ms. Mantilla knew all she had to do was snap a picture of her kids in their daily fun-filled routine.
“Everyone always says they look like little tourists when they are walking around the building,” Ms. Mantilla said. “They love it here so much and I think it’s so cute. They love the pool and they like to play in the courtyard and have picnics. So I just said, let me send in a picture of my kids.”
Ms. Mantilla’ photo of Molly and Mason decked out in their swimming attire, waiting patiently for the elevator to take them to the pool, was the contest’s winning entry. She won an American Express® gift card which went toward a scooter, bicycle, helmets and other toys for her children. Her photo was one of many submitted by Monarch residents that highlight the community’s lifestyle. Submissions ranged from artistic shots of delicious food being prepared in residents’ kitchens, to colorful poolside photos, to pictures of the sun setting majestically over the grasslands that surround the community.
Paul Aiello, who has enjoyed living at The Monarch for nine months, submitted three photos to the contest. He captured a fireworks display illuminating the night sky over MetLife stadium on 4th of July weekend, a casual everyday scene of him relaxing with a friend outside the building, and an image of his nephew, Emmett, playing in the children’s playroom. He said those images represent just a small part of everything he enjoys about living at The Monarch.
“The Monarch offers freedom,” Mr. Aiello said. “In this busy world people spend less and less time at home. By moving to The Monarch, I’m able to go to the pool, the gym, and ‘the park’ all while remaining at home. It’s allowed me to have a better quality of life.”
Amanda Hahn submitted one of the most popular entries to the contest, a photo of her one-year-old daughter, Rowan, exploring one of The Monarch’s resident courtyards.
“Rowan’s favorite thing about living at The Monarch is learning to walk on AstroTurf,” Ms. Hahn said.
Billy Ash, a Monarch resident and Chief Digital Officer of Today’s Business, snapped pictures of oysters on a wooden cutting board he prepared in his kitchen, and seafood sausage he grilled outside. He says The Monarch is ideal for residents who like to cook.
“My kitchen at The Monarch has an open layout with the perfect balance between just enough cabinetry and counter space, with all of the essential kitchen appliances any cook can ask for,” Mr. Ash said.
Justice Lettich’s submission underscores The Monarch’s convenient location at the nexus of several major highways, providing him with an ideal home base to explore everything the tri-state area has to offer. He is in his car with the road in front of him, apartments to his left and right and the purple evening sky in the background, about to head out on an adventure.
“I’m grateful I can call this place my home and be able to drive out every single day and have open access to wherever I decide to be that day,” Mr. Lettich said.
Aimee Hilario posted a photo of her kissing her two-year-old daughter, Nyla, against the backdrop of the setting sun.
“There are so many reasons to love life at The Monarch,” Ms. Hilario said. “The list goes on, but one of my favorite things is taking in this beautiful view on walks around the building with my family after a long day. I love sunset kisses with my sweet baby at The Monarch. Seriously, so blessed. We couldn’t be happier living here!”
Known for its unparalleled amenities and its ultra-convenient location just a few miles from Manhattan, The Monarch proudly delivers luxury one- and two- bedroom apartments to the Bergen County marketplace, with prices starting below $2,000/month.
