Three years after first moving to the community of modern rental residences and incomparable indoor and outdoor amenities in Jersey City, Heather Henry has leased a second apartment at the location, this time a one-bedroom residence in Criterion, the latest building to open within The Beacon’s collection of restored Art Deco properties.

For Henry, there was never a question of whether or not she would enter her fourth year as a Beacon resident, only which of the unique buildings she would do it in.

“I was instantly sold on The Beacon when I first came here,” said Henry, who relocated from London and spent some time living along the Jersey City waterfront before moving to The Beacon. “At the time, I was looking to be close to Manhattan, but away from the chaos and exorbitant expense of living there.

“Wanting a little more bang for my buck, I visited The Beacon and was immediately impressed with the architecture, history and overall concept,” she said. “There is so much character here compared with typical square boxes you see elsewhere. And the amenities and open space are fantastic.”
