SOMERVILLE, NJ – SOMA, an upscale new rental building in the Somerset County borough of Somerville, is on pace to make a late 2018 debut, according to its developer Sterling Properties.
Construction is nearly complete on the luxury four-story building which will feature a mix of 69 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments and amenities steps from Somerville award-winning downtown. Homes are expected to be priced from $1,550 to $2,700 with initial occupancy anticipated in December.
Ideally located at 110 South Bridge Street, the building’s ultra-convenient location will strongly encourage pedestrian activity. Within walking distance are Somerville’s Division Street Plaza and Main Street corridor. The property is also situated one block from New Jersey Transit’s Somerville Station with service into Newark Penn Station and New York City.
“It’s no secret today’s renting public increasingly wants to live in an electric, urban-style environment with retail and transportation at their fingertips,” says Nick Hollenbeck, Sterling’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “That’s exactly what they’ll find a SOMA which will serve as a beautiful addition to one of New Jersey’s most popular downtown districts.
“Within a few minute walk, residents will have access to the Somerville train station, shops, bars, restaurants, and so much more. SOMA was also designed to meet LEED Silver standards which will go a long way in helping our residents and the community reduce their carbon footprint. A neat component of our LEED initiative will be our resident bike share. The idea is that rather than getting in a car and driving the bikes will allow our residents to pedal into town, save on emissions and also shop locally.”
Sterling Properties is now accepting VIP names for the official leasing launch of SOMA. Interested prospects can visit www.rentsoma.com to add their name to receive updates on its opening timeline.
Designed by Comito Associates, SOMA will blend seamlessly with the architectural landscape of downtown Somerville. Homes will range from 585 to 1,290 square feet of space and feature tall ceilings, washer/dryer in every unit, stainless steel appliances and designer finishes. The building will also offer a state-of-the-art fitness studio and tech lounge. Interior Design firm Mary Cook and Associates designed the project’s unit interiors and common space.
Downtown Somerville has been recently named one of the state’s “Great Places” by the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association and a 2018 recipient of a NJ Future Smart Growth Award for its efforts to create a welcoming and walkable retail and residential district.
