“Bijou Properties, which began construction on Edge Lofts two years ago, is already preparing its next two projects: 900 Monroe, a 135-unit rental property to open in 2014; and Park Place, a 212-unit rental building with retail and a charter school, scheduled for 2015 completion. David Gaber, a Bijou partner, says he thinks the new regulations will have a “minimal” impact on constructions costs, but he adds that it’s still not clear how much more Bijou will have to pay for additional operational expenses from such things as higher insurance.”
