Hoboken, N.J., is a city of around 53,000 on the Hudson River that increasingly draws young families that have been priced out of Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Known as the hometown of Frank Sinatra and Carlo’s Bakery — made famous by the reality television show “Cake Boss” — Hoboken is sandwiched between Weehawken to the north and Jersey City to the south. It has a walkable downtown, with nearby streets filled with brownstones, while newer high-rise developments have been built along the waterfront.
Hoboken is a short commute to Manhattan by PATH train, bus or ferry. The waterfront offers great views of New York City and plenty of parkland for running, cycling, sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
